Often cited as a pioneer in retained executive search, Nirmit’s over two decades experience in executive search has predominantly been cross border in nature. Kathy's career in executive search started in 2000, and she has been a Principal in Penrhyn International since joining Fish & Nankivell as a partner in Melbourne in early 2004. She specialises in searches for critical roles – mainly chief executive officer or equivalent – for not-for-profit organisations which recognise the need for excellence in management and superior financial outcomes. Kathy has a BA with Honors in English, a Diploma in Education, a Graduate Diploma in Information Studies, and an MBA from Melbourne Business School.

Prior to her career in search Kathy worked for seven years with the publisher Curriculum Corporation, a company whose board comprises the Chief Executives of the nine State, Territory and Commonwealth departments of education. She was originally a teacher. She has been on the board of the Victorian Institute of Sport for 10 years, and (until it merged with another provider) served previously on the board of Urban Communities Ltd, a public/private housing provider which emerged from the Becton/Victorian government joint venture at the Kensington public housing estate in inner Melbourne. Phil is a graduate of Melbourne University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in accounting and economics. His professional career commenced with Arthur Andersen where he worked for 10 years in Melbourne and Sydney as a Senior Manager. He then joined a major information technology service provider, Idaps Computer Science, as Divisional General Manager where he significantly increased the performance of the division over three years. His next appointment was to PA Consulting Group as a Principal Consultant working primarily on organisation reviews, business improvement systems and marketing projects. Kazushige Hata

Kazushige Hata started his career in Corporate/Retail Sales and HR at Kokusai Securities (now Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities). He then became a corporate research analyst and worked for foreign securities firms including UBS Securities and conducted research and analysis focused on consumer electronics companies such as Sony and Panasonic.

Yuhiko Yasunaga became a Principal in Penrhyn International in 2004 when he joined Shimamoto Partners, Penrhyn International’s member in Japan. Yuhiko’s practice includes both Japanese and international clients. Much of his search activity reflects his 21 year career in the financial services sector.

Yuhiko’s career with Sanwa Bank started in 1979, and he rose to become General Manager of the Sakaemachi Branch. During his time with Sanwa Yuhiko was seconded for a period to a senior position with East Japan Railway Company. After leaving Sanwa he had a short period as CFO of MOBIT, before joining Russell Reynold Associates as Executive Director. He moved to Shimamoto Partners as a Partner in 2004.

Born and raised in Kuching, Sarawak, Joo-Lee was educated in Malaysia, Singapore, and the USA. She holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Oregon, and a Master of Science in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Chong Lian joined The People At Work as a Partner at the end of 2000. Being part of the pioneer team, she has played a major role in shaping The People At Work to what it is today. Chong Lian is accountable for driving growth and managing the Singapore office. She embraces the values of The People At Work which emphasize passion and excellence, and ensures the team upholds and animates these values in delivering a high level of quality service and results.

Chong Lian has helped clients attract and build private banking teams in a highly competitive talent marketplace. She is equally comfortable discussing talent strategies with clients wanting to grow their management ranks, identifying high potential talents, or providing career counsel to CxO executives.

Chong Lian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Literature from the National University of Singapore, and a Graduate Diploma in marketing Communications from the Marketing Instituite of Singapore.

Joo-Lee Aw is responsible for driving the vision for the Group while actively developing global and regional partnerships, and initiatives for its offices in Singapore, Shanghai and Manila.

Joo-Lee established her corporate career in Media, Consumer and Banking sectors with companies such as Citibank, KFC and MediaCorp where she built a successful track record in Business Development, Marketing and Sales, spearheading new corporate initiatives or acting as a change agent working across different stakeholder groups.

She was last with Dow Jones International Media before she left to start The People at Work in 2000.
