Andrew Bonwick’s career has covered a number of industrial and service sectors, including CEO and Non-Executive Director roles in Australian Stock Exchange listed companies. He advised Institutional and Corporate Funds as a Research Analyst with McIntosh Securities (now Merrill Lynch BOA) and held Executive Director level roles in the Electricity Sector in generation, distribution, C&I and SME retail.

After graduating with a degree in Applied Science and a Masters degree from Melbourne University in Industrial Economics, he worked with General Motors in a variety of local and overseas positions before moving to PA Consulting as a strategy and performance consultant within the Capital Intensive division. His assignments covered a variety of large industrial companies in Australia and Asia and was followed by roles in McIntosh Securities and Mercury Energy (NZ). Andrew returned to Australia to lead Yallourn Energy as Marketing Director, and built a class leading capability in generator wholesale and gentailer marketing.

In 2003 he moved to be CEO of PowerDirect (ASX:AEN) which was sold for 23x historic earnings. He then operated a variety of consulting assignments and Non- Executive Director roles in listed and unlisted Companies. Andrew joined Fish & Nankivell full time from early in 2012, although he has been associated with the firm as a client for nearly 20 years.

Ian has been a leading member of the executive search profession in Australia since 1984. He was a founder of Fish & Nankivell and became a Principal of Penrhyn International in 1985 and is past Chairman of Penrhyn. Ian is recognised for the many senior assignments he has conducted in the financial services sector, as well as his assignments for many leading Australian manufacturing, professional services, technology, resources, consumer products and retail companies. Through Boardroom Search, Ian has also conducted many searches for non-executive chairmen and directors. Ian has also conducted a large number of reviews of Boards, evaluating their effectiveness and performance.

Ian is a graduate in Economics of Monash University, and is a Foundation Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

Ian worked for Alcoa of Australia as Manager, General Products Group; was employed by the Pratt Group as Chief Executive of companies acquired from Pacific Dunlop and James Hardie, and then moved into the Venture Capital Division of Pratt & Co Financial Services.

Originally from South Africa, Janice has worked in Melbourne since 2001, conducting executive search assignments across a number of sectors including healthcare (acute, allied & devices), banking & finance (with a particular emphasis on investment banking), and strategy.

Janice worked for Accenture in South Africa, heading up their Recruitment function for 5 years before joining Investec as their Head of Talent, where she led a large change project for the recruitment function. Her next role was to set up the Johannesburg satellite office for a Brussels based business called EMDS, before moving to Australia and working in the executive search industry.

Janice is a graduate of the University of Melbourne’s Victorian College of the Arts, holding a Masters in Visual Art. In addition she has a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in psychology and sociology from the University of South Africa and a Diploma in Human Resources Management.

Janice combines her executive search career with her practice as an artist and also manages her own clothing label, Icelandic Blue.

Janice joined Fish & Nankivell in 2014 to focus on healthcare, finance and strategy assignments.

Julia Soutter is a graduate of the University of St Andrews (Scotland) with a Master of Arts in Modern History and International Relations. In 1995 she began her recruitment career in a leading UK financial search and selection firm where she chose to specialise in public sector and not-for-profit appointments though her remit grew considerably to include human resources and other senior management positions. Her ability to identify hard-to-find individuals, often with a unique combination of skills, made her a highly respected consultant and she was quickly promoted to Director of Public Services & Charities. In addition to leading a number of teams across the UK, she was account director for many of the firm’s key clients across all business sectors: banking and financial services, commerce and industry and not-for-profit.

In 2005 she was recruited by the global search firm Odgers Berndtson to join their not-for-profit practice as a Principal, Executive Search. Managing long-term partnership relationships, she continued to develop her sector expertise and market intelligence and was responsible for a variety of high profile assignments to appoint directors, chief executives and non-executive board members. Whilst taking time off to raise her two children, Julia moved to Melbourne with her Australian husband. She joined Fish & Nankivell in 2013.

Phil Watson became a Principal of Penrhyn International in 2001 when Ogilvie Watson merged with Fish & Nankivell, one of the earliest member firms of Penrhyn International. Phil’s career in executive search started in 1989, and he was co-founder of Ogilvie Watson in 1995. Phil has a multi-industry practice and serves Australian subsidiaries of international companies as well as major Australian organisations.

Phil’s career as a consultant started with ten years with Arthur Andersen. He then joined Idaps Computer Science and PA Consulting. From PA Phil became head of Distribution Systems for Repco Corporation, before returning to PA Consulting as an executive search consultant in 1989.

Phil has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne.

Richard Ogilvie’s career in executive search started in 1984, and he has been a Principal in Penrhyn International since 2001, when the firm which he co-founded merged with Fish & Nankivell, a member firm of Penrhyn International. Richard has a multi-industry practice.

Richard’s career started with BHP in Australia as a Marketing Engineer. Later in his career he switched to HR management with Nylex, and then to management consulting. He worked with Energy Consulting Group, Touche Ross, and PA. With PA he worked in London and Singapore as well as Australia. In 1995 he co-founded Ogilvie Watson in Melbourne.
