Kathy McLean’s career in executive search started in 2000, and she has been a Principal in Penrhyn International since joining Fish & Nankivell Ogilvie Watson in Melbourne in early 2004. Much of Kathy’s practice is in the public and not-for-profit sectors, in which she has served leading state and national organisations in Australia.

Kathy has a Bachelor’s degree in English with Honours from Monash University, Diplomas in Education and in Information Studies from Melbourne University, and an MBA from Melbourne Business School.

Kathy was originally a teacher, and has taught in Germany as well as Australia. Later she became a national specialist in curriculum and assessment issues, being appointed co-leader of the National English Curriculum and Assessment Project and Director of the National Benchmarks Project which developed standards in literacy and numeracy for all students in Australian schools.

Kathy is a member of the Board of the Victorian Institute of Sport and on various committees of the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria. In the past she was very involved in her professional association, as a member of the Board and chair of the Professional Development and Publishing committees.
