17 December 2014 - Penrhyn International announced today a strategic expansion that includes the strengthening of its Financial Services expertise in North America and Asia. Whitney Partners (New York), and their Asian affiliate, Whitney Correlate, reinforce Penrhyn’s financial services footprint -- critical to the Penrhyn clients’ key growth initiatives.

"We are delighted and honored to welcome Whitney Partners to our organization. Their expertise and obvious impact was immediately evident as they so brilliantly hosted our North American Mid-Year Meeting," said Connie Adair, Penrhyn’s Chairwoman, at the Annual 2014 Mid-Year Meetings held in New York and London. “To have Whitney join our team is an extraordinary coup -- one which will significantly bolster our global search capacities in financial services, access to American companies and their current explosive growth.”

Gary Goldstein, the CEO and co-founder of Whitney Partners, has been a leader in the executive search industry since 1983 and is known to be one of the most effective consultants on Wall Street and Main Street. Whitney was voted the world’s No. 1 financial services search firm by The Economist survey and Mr. Goldstein is widely recognized as the industry expert on strategy and talent in financial services. He has appeared in a number of articles and television programs ranging from The Wall Street Journal to CNN discussing trends in the financial services sector.

Joining Mr. Goldstein on the Whitney Partners leadership team are Alicia Lazaro, President and Co-founder, and most recently John Wright, Senior Managing Director and Partner. Now based in New York, Mr. Wright was previously the founder of two financial services search firms, Executive Access, an Asia-Pacific regional practice, and Global Sage, the first search firm from Asia to become truly global. Mr. Wright and the firms he founded were consistently ranked No. 1 in the industry by AsiaMoney, The Economist and The Times of London. Prior to joining search, Mr. Wright was Editor of The Wall Street Journal in Asia.

Whitney is joined by international partners Niall MacDonald and Russell Kopp who have distinguished track records of closing the most complicated assignments across Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Their firm, Correlate Asia, has been ranked No. 1 in the region by AsiaMoney across the entire platform of financial services. Their longevity in the market and commitment to excellence allow Whitney Correlate to enjoy the highest quality references in the region.

“Penrhyn’s 26 offices will give Whitney the ability serve our clients on the ground around the world while maintaining the quality and expertise our clients have come to expect from our brand,” said Mr. Goldstein. “We are honored to be able to join such a well-established association.”
